Awake (NBC)
PD: Thursday, 3/1Plot Summary: After a car accident takes the life of a family member, a police detective lives two alternating parallel lives, one of which his wife is alive and the other, his son.
Thoughts: This is one of the more unique plots I have seen this season - I will definitely check it out. If you want to catch up, visit here to watch the Pilot episode. For any of you who have already seen it, please leave a comment with your thoughts.
GCB 'Good Christian Belles' (ABC)
PD: Sunday, 3/4GCB 'Good Christian Belles' (ABC)
Plot Summary: Based on the book Good Christian Bitches, this soapy new series follows a former high school mean girl (Leslie Bibb) who returns to her home in Dallas, where she is greeted with less than a warm welcome by a former classmate (Kristin Chenoweth).
Thoughts: I am a fan of Kristin Chenowith. I am an un-fan of Leslie Bibb and "soapy series". I may give it a couple of epsiodes to see if I can stomach it. If you would like to join me in this gastronomical experiment, you can catch the Pilot episode here.
Missing (ABC)
PD: Thursday, 3/15Plot Summary: Ashley Judd plays a seemingly mild-mannered mom whose teenage son vanishes while overseas. Judd's character turns out to have a past as a spy and some serious skills and she's on her way to Europe to deal with anyone who stands in the way of finding her son.
Thoughts: I can't help but think that this is the plot from Taken, but with a gender reversal. I also can't help but think that that movie was so rad. Also, Ashley Judd is one of my favorite actors so there was pretty much no chance of me missing this one (see what I did there?).
Bent (NBC)
PD: Wednesday, 3/21Plot Summary: Divorced, no-nonsense attorney Alex (Amanda Peet) hires irresponsible, womanizing contractor Pete (David Walton) to renovate her kitchen and begins a will they, won't they relationship.
Thoughts: I am pretty much in love with the casting of this show. I love both Amanda Peet and David Walton and Jeffrey Tambor plays Alex's dad and he is a comedic genius. I am hoping that this doesn't end up being a laugh track accompanied, typical sitcom.
And that is it for the premieres this month.
A couple of returning shows that deserve a shout out. Breaking In was originally cancelled last season and then mercifully brought back. It premieres tonight on Fox. This show is hilarious, original and has Christian Slater. Also, Community is coming back this month (3/15) to finish out their season. This show was on the verge of being cancelled, which would be tragic. I don't want to live in a world where Community gets cancelled before Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory.
